Susan P. Meisel

Susan P. Meisel has been buying, selling, leasing, developing, and managing residential and commercial real estate since 1972. Over the course of her thirty-five-year career in real estate, she has established herself as one of the most successful brokers in New York today. Her experience in all aspects of real estate is unsurpassed in the Downtown market. To date, Susan has closed hundreds of deals in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Hamptons, primarily in SoHo, Tribeca and the Village.
Susan and her husband, Louis, are successful real estate investors and developers, who own prime retail stores and residential investment properties in SoHo and the Hamptons. As early pioneers of SoHo, Susan and Louis saw residential and commercial opportunities where many did not, and they were amongst the early artists who set change in motion to the neighborhood. An expert in Artist Certification laws in the M1-5A and M1-5B district, Susan has spent much time advocating the DCP and the DOB to update their regulations; in turn, she has helped many potential buyers to navigate the specific challenges that are unique to the SoHo district.
In addition to her real estate endeavors, Susan is a successful artist, author and accomplished chef. In 1973, Susan and Louis opened the world-renowned Louis K. Meisel Gallery, which continues to be one of SoHo’s oldest and best-known galleries. As an artist and photographer, she has published 7 books with Harry N. Abrams and Rizzoli, each with hundreds of photos on the Hamptons and food. Her books include the following: The Hamptons: Life Behind The Hedges, Hamptons Pleasures, Gourmet Shops of New York, Fresh from the Farm, Shop, Cook, Eat New York and New York Sweets. She is currently working on new book and loves to cater philanthropic events with Judy Bellova.
